The Winged Boots Fitting Service began in 2004.
In 2004 I attended a small group meeting during Lent titled a “Lenten Journey with Jesus” at the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour in Arlington, Massachusetts. During the course, through a meditation I wrote a story entitled “In Boots Behold God” that told of Jesus giving me a pair of winged boots and instructing me to “go fit boots!” A week after I had read the story Carol Brorsen, who was facilitating the group, gave me a pastel drawing of winged boots now featured on this website. On it she sweetly wrote “Jamie -fly & tell us what you see on the mountain, float & lift us from the hum-drum that blinds us to the truth of who we ARE – blessings Carol.” Quite a request! I do not think I am capable of doing what Carol asks but I hope that the writings and work I will post here will be of some help. They are my gift to you.
Since this story emerged I have come to see my vocation as being the winged-boot-fitter, who helps others to make spirited and rooted next steps in their lives and organizations. At least that is what I try to do.
